DA VINCI surgical robots are used more and more frequently in hospitals, for example for prostate or bladder cancer surgery or kidney removal. Using robotics has a lot of advantages for the patients, such as rapid recovery and a shorter hospital stay. In addition, the robot works with the minimally invasive surgical method, thus the patient only has a very small wound after surgery. A disadvantage is the high price of the operation which must be paid by patients from abroad themselves.
Not all German clinics work with the Da-Vinci-Robot. The following list presents hospitals that have a surgical robot.

- Many patients! At the clinics presented above, doctors have great experience with the Da-Vinci robot (OPS 5-987), because only hospitals that use this surgical robot on an above-average basis have been taken into consideration. Hospitals are obliged to inform about their medical treatment in quality reports and to provide this information to the Federal Joint Committee.
- High Level of Patient Satisfaction! The level of patient satisfaction of the clinics in the list is at least 80 per cent. This is the result of a survey by the German health insurance companies AOK, the BARMER Ersatzkasse and the Kaufmännische Krankenkasse (KKH) in cooperation with the “Weisse Liste”. Every year, almost half a million of insured people are being questioned about their hospital stay.
- Good Hygiene! All the clinics attach above-average value to patient safety. At least 45 out of 55 measures are taken in order to guarantee optimal hygiene before, during and after surgery.
The presentation above only shows a small selection of hospitals with a Da Vinci Robot. In general, doctors in about one hundred clinics in Germany work with the new technology.
